(Senior) Software Engineer C/C++ - Embedded Software (f/m/d)

Your team:

We as Volkswagen Infotainment GmbH aim to act as a technical expert for selected features and development activities in the context of connected cars.  

You will be part of our international and highly motivated agile team with a focus on embedded middleware of the Volkswagen operating system in Vehicle & Cloud Platform. We will shape the automotive future with you. 

You are responsible for developing SW-components in an international development team in one of the most innovative fields (called Project MAGIC). MAGIC is an acronym for Management, Authentication and Generic Internet Communication. It supports all online-capable runtime environments and all online use cases as well as delivers its enabler products into all vehicle platforms. 

Your built-up source code will be used in multiple embedded Online-ECUs across current VW Group automotive projects at the location Bochum.

Your tasks include:

  • Develop embedded software features for Online Connectivity Middleware solution

  • Work on a level playing field within a multidisciplinary international development team as a part of an Agile Release Train (ART) 

  • Assess, plan & develop based on concepts and requirements in a hierarchical agile working environment (Epics, Features, User Stories) 

  • Cherish the idea of Security by design within your products 

  • Collaborate with other Development Teams and align the implementation process based on PI-wise plannings  

  • Evaluate your software modules in close collaboration with the Architecture and System Teams 

  • Agile Development according to the SCRUM and SAFe methodology 

Your profile:

  • Successfully completed studies in the field of computer science, security science, electrical engineering, physics, or comparable studies 

  • Profound experience in software engineering & SW development (preferred is knowledge in C/C++ and ASPICE) 

  • Profound experience with version management tools (preferred is knowledge in Git) 

  • Profound experience with embedded systems in an automotive environment as plus

  • Experience in SW development within agile framework is a plus

  • Analytic skills, teamwork and self-organized way of working 

  • Good understanding of complex processes and structures 

  • Fluent English language skills, German language skills are a plus
